Audi A3 Sedan India launch event

Though this article is not related to travel but still I am posting it here as I wanted to share my wonderful experience at the launch of Audi A3 Sedan.

31Audi owned by Volkswagen group is one of the top car manufacturers in the world in almost every aspect, be it sales figures, comfort, luxury, performance, or technology.

Three days back Audi launched their latest offering specially made for Indian market, the cheapest Audi A3 Sedan., particularly to compete with other two German rivals- Mercedes Benz and BMW.

The launch event was organized by Audi Gurgaon dealer at Hotel JW Marriott, Aerocity, New Delhi. It was a very well hosted event with loads of oomph and luxury, which is very synonymous with the brand Audi. And luckily I got this opportunity to attend the event alongwith my cousin.

3There were 5 A3’s wrapped under covers waiting to be taken-off to reveal the sexy amazing sedan in stunning colours. There was a live performance by world famous drummer Ranjit Barot( and a dance group.

5 6 7 10Then Audi designer Markus Gleitz elaborated on the design process of the Audi A3 Sedan. Next on stage was Mr. Joe King, Head of Audi India to brief about the A3 Sedan and he announced the price of A3 Sedan. He was accompanied by Mr. Rashi Todd, MD, Audi Gurgaon.

13 14 16 172119Finally after a breath-taking 4D projection show the World Car of the Year was out of wraps and everyone was stunned with the killing looks of A3 Sedan!!!!

23 25 27 28 26Offcourse, there were high end drinks, snacks and delicious dinner waiting for us. But honestly it was one of the rare events where food was my last priority……I was too busy in exploring the car and clicking some photos.

32 33Now a little bit about the A3 Sedan

Built on Volkswagen’s versatile MQB platform, the A3 Sedan is Audi India’s cheapest and smallest vehicle till date. It is available in 1.8L TFSI petrol and 2.0L TDI diesel mills giving you 180bhp & 250Nm torque and 143bhp & 320Nm respectively. Diesel version comes with 6-speed S tronic transmission while the petrol one has 7-speed S tronic.

35TDI Premium: Rs. 25.95 lakh

35TDI Premium Plus: Rs. 29.95 lakh

35TDI Technology: Rs. 32.66 lakh

40TFSI Premium Plus: Rs. 28.95 lakh

37All in all, Audi A3 Sedan is a great package overall for someone who wants to enter the luxury car segment but is little tight on budget. The car has awesome sexy looks, great brand value, lots of technology, and very competitive pricing. But it surely lacks on interior space (almost same as in Honda City); those who are taller will keep banging their heads on Indian roads.

Whatever it may be, it will surely eat up the sales figures of A-class, B-class, BMW 1 series and also D2 segment cars.

P.S. I also have some nice videos of the event which I will be uploading soon on You Tube and will post a link to them here.
